Diesel vehicles prohibited in Lyon from 2025: 40 million motorists launched the "Lyon Red-the-Bol"

As a reminder, the Metropolis of Lyon intends to accelerate the implementation of the low -emission zone.Currently, the ZFE concerns vehicles of transport of goods, and reserves access to vehicles with vignettes Crit’Air 3, 2, 1 or 0.From January 1, 2021, vehicles with Crit’Air 3 vignettes will no longer be allowed in the area concerning Lyon, but also Villeurbanne, Caluire-et-Cuire, Vénissieux and Bron.New terms will then be offered to the vote next March."The objective is the release of diesel: only vehicles with the Crit’Air 0 and 1 vignettes will be authorized within the scope of the ZFE by the end of the mandate".

In response to this measure which it judges "discriminatory towards the most modest and useless homes from an environmental point of view, and in the manifest absence of consultation between elected officials carrying the project and road users", the'Association 40 million motorists launched this Monday the operation "Le Ras-le-Bol Lyonnais", a notebook of online grievances where all the road users concerned by the Lyonnaise ZFE and the traffic restrictions that will be ranging thereare called upon to express their wishes and their demands in terms of access to mobility.

"Perhaps we cannot fight against the establishment of this area of traffic restriction, since it is the will of Europe, the French State and the local authorities that were elected by the Lyonnais, although no study has ever scientifically demonstrated the effectiveness of a ZFE in terms of reducing polluting emissions. But what seems vital to us is that citizens are closely associated with this kind of decisions and the modalities of their implementation. This is the meaning of Operation Le Ras-le-Bol Lyonnais and this notebook of complaints made available to road users, "said Pierre Chasseray, the general delegate of 40 million motorists.

The messages thus collected will then be sent to the mayor of Lyon and the president of the Metropolis of Grand-Lyon.
