Lingerie: the bra explained to men!

Lingerie: what is it?

Gentlemen! It's time you got to know what lingerie is. This is a very complex area that is of great importance to women, not only for its practicality, but also for its feminine side.

Of course, talking about lingerie is talking about bras and panties. However, you should know that if your wife has several different bras, it is not a coincidence. Indeed, there are several types of bras, such as those you will find on the DIM website:

Every bra is different in fit, use and comfort. So choose your bra accordingly. The same goes for panties. Boxers, shortys, thongs... So many underwear to wear depending on the occasion. It is then essential that you can make the difference between these various articles.

And no, lingerie is not only made up of these 2 types of underwear. Also part of the lingerie family are stockings, bodysuits and babydolls.

The beanie: an almost sacred technical term

When it comes to lingerie, it's impossible not to mention the bonnet. The cup is the measurement that determines the correct size of the bra. It is represented by a letter preceded by two numbers (for example, 90D).

In order to determine the cup size, 2 measurements are essential: the chest circumference and the underbust. Bust circumference is the measurement taken at the tip of the breasts. The measurement of the underbust is taken below the breasts, at the level of the rib cage.

You must then subtract these two measurements to find the corresponding hat. The definition of the cap is made from the difference between the measurements. A difference of 13 cm corresponds to an A cup (small chest), while a difference of 23 cm corresponds to an F cup (large chest).

Finally, the number preceding the letter indicates the length of the bra band. It is determined by the measurement of the underbust. The larger this measurement, the higher the number of the cup.

Offer lingerie: how to go about it?

It is not forbidden to offer lingerie as a gift. On the contrary. However, you have to make the right choice and above all not make a mistake.

To do this, first do what is necessary to know the size of the cup of the one to whom you want to give your gift. A bra that is too small is uncomfortable, and too big, it makes the breasts float. It might be complicated to ask your sweetie if you can measure her bust size. Try asking her the question about the beanie in between by subtly slipping her into the conversation. Otherwise, you can discreetly check the indication on one of her bras.

Second point, pay attention to the material. The preferred materials are cotton, silk and polyamide.

Last point, make your gift according to the stage of your relationship. Avoid too daring lingerie after 1 or 2 months of relationship. You risk sending the wrong message.
