This Sunday, the JDD exclusively unveils the 2022 ranking of towns and villages where life is good in France. The 3rd prize list of the eponymous association, which is based on 187 criteria divided into nine categories (quality of life, safety, health, shops and services, transport, education, sports and leisure, solidarity, real estate attractiveness).
Last year, Lyon was 56th in the rankings, far ahead of its neighbor in Haute-Savoie Annecy, number 1 for the year 2021. In 2022, the capital of Gaul fell seven places and advanced to 63rd position. For its part, Annecy must cede its throne to Angers. The third place on the podium is entrusted to Bayonne.
In the Rhône and the Metropolis, Lyon has the best place. She is ahead of Villeurbanne, 109th (+3 places) and Bron, 138th (+6 places). Caluire-et-Cuire has lost 10 places in one year and ranks 186th city where life is good in France.
The rest of the metropolitan ranking may surprise more than one. It seems that the criteria used by the association are a little rusty: Saint-Priest is 213th, Vénissieux 234th, Vaulx-en-Velin 248th, Oullins 277th, Tassin-la-Demi-Lune 306th, Rillieux-la-Pape 306th , Ecully 415th, Francheville 458th and Saint-Genis-Laval 464th.

In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, five cities rank ahead of Lyon (63rd). Annecy is therefore 2nd, followed by Chambéry (Savoie), 21st, and Saint-Etienne (Loire) which, despite losing six places, is 26th! Aurillac (Cantal) is 50th and Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) is 61st.
Lyon will console itself by saying that of the three major cities of the country, it is the first. Because Paris is 66th, with a fall of 11 places. And Marseille tumbles to 93rd position (-8).
Regarding the Rhone villages, Saint-Romain-au-Mont-d'Or is in free fall. 115th last year, the town is 194th in 2022. Rochetaillée-sur-Saône (206th), Fleurieu-sur-Saône (396th) and Sainte-Consorce (466th) follow.
