Admar Lopes (Bordeaux): "our club has not been respected"
Admar Lopes, the technical director of Bordeaux, still does not understand. How can the LFP decide to maintain the match against OM, Friday January 7, despite an exceptionally high number of positive players for Covid-19 among the Girondins? The Portuguese expressed all his anger at a press conference.
While the LFP has changed its health protocol concerning the holding of matches during an epidemic, it still obliges Ligue 1 clubs to play a match if there are not at least 20 absentees on a list of 30 players addressed to the LFP. In the current state, Bordeaux does not count 20 players forfeited, and must therefore play the match against OM. However, the protocol also stipulates that any new health element be taken into account up to five hours before kick-off. We will therefore have to wait until 4 p.m., Friday January 7, to make a final point on the situation and find out whether the match will be postponed or maintained.
