Eterna – KonTiki Lady Diver Quartz

Montres de plongée Des « plongeuses » au féminin

2017 marks the 70th anniversary of the Kon-Tiki expedition. In 1947, the Norwegian anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl left the Peruvian port of Callao aboard a balsa raft called Kon-Tiki in order to prove to the world that the first Polynesians could be descended from the Indians of South America. After more than a hundred days on the Pacific and 8,000 km covered, the crew arrived safely. In the preparation phase of the expedition, Thor Heyerdahl asks Eterna to obtain waterproof watches capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of the crossing. In homage to the explorer, Eterna presented in 1958 the first watch called KonTiki with an automatic movement protected by a waterproof case up to 200 meters. Since then, this collection has continued to welcome new references.

This year, Eterna is expanding its women's diver's watch offering and presenting the KonTiki Lady Diver Quartz. Both chic and casual, this timepiece combines a 36 mm diameter steel case with a white lacquered dial. For a more urban look, two of the four variants are offered with a rose gold PVD treatment. The white, pink or black leather strap completes the neat look of the piece. The triangular index at 12 o'clock, symbol of Eterna, is there to remind us that the Lady KonTiki Diver remains above all a diver's watch, waterproof up to 200 meters, equipped with a unidirectional ceramic bezel and endowed with a fluorescent display visible in the dark.
