PhonAndroid The world's smallest mobile phone is smaller than your thumb!

The smallest mobile phone in the world is called Zanco Tiny T1, and it is fully functional! This dumb phone reminds us of an era where each generation aimed to make phones ever smaller. It has a 200 mAh battery which still gives it 180 minutes on call. And seems perfect to take along for your jog. Only limit: it is better to have 10/10 for each eye.

We take a little detour via the world of dumb phones (dumb phones, as opposed to smartphones) a forgotten genre, but not necessarily to be underestimated. Current technology makes it possible to give them superpowers compared to the phones that made our daily lives in the 1990s. We had already seen a dumb phone capable of lasting several months on a single battery charge. Another that didn't need any electricity to run. There it is rather a question of size: the Zanco Tiny T1 is in fact the smallest functional mobile phone in the world!

The smallest mobile phone in the world seems quite easy to lose!

And small he is: look at your thumb – that's about his size. Above there are very small keys and an OLED screen, also miniature. This little toy, the British company that is behind it recommends it to joggers. It is indeed easy to put in a pocket, even a tiny one (like this pocket that is never used for anything in pants)! We imagine that it is also very easy to lose it. And that would be a shame, because it still allows you to communicate in 2G for 180 minutes before the battery asks you to recharge it. But also to send/receive tiny text messages that are barely readable.

Its internal memory has 32 MB, which is enough to store 300 phone numbers and fifty text messages. Unfortunately, 2G/GSM technology is not necessarily sustainable. The 2G antennas will probably all be switched off in the near future in France – as is already the case in certain countries abroad. This miniature dumb phone is the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. It would eventually sell for around 35 euros – and the first Zanco Tiny T1s should be delivered around May 2018 according to campaign officials.
