Sabrina Cesari, the fashionist and star of social networks confides: "I see Instagram as an escape"

It is in the heart of the Hôtel de Pourtalès, bogged down a stone's throw from the Madeleine, that our fashion team was able to meet Sabrina Cesari, and learn a little more about this distinguished entrepreneur. His daily life? She transcribes it in part on her social networks by posting daily photos related to everything that animates her. Because if positivity and good humor are her watchwords, the content creator likes to articulate her universe around fashion, an area she has particularly loved since childhood.

And although she made her debut on the social network adored by millennials and Gen-Z, Sabrina Cesari shares with us the memory of her sewing workshop which she held in Beirut, and which largely contributed to shape the public image of fashionista, that we attribute to her today.

She looks back on her fascinating journey, where everything was done "step by step", until today, to sign a collaboration with Le Tanneur. An unprecedented outing that comes at just the right time to get us off to a good start in autumn-winter. The DNA of this co-creation? A perfect reinterpretation of the timeless Emilie it bag, which Sabrina has declined this time in nude cowhide leather, equipped with a removable shoulder strap and metallic accessories, to inject it with an additional dose of modernity. And so as not to do things by halves, the young woman completes the stylistic panoply with a small piece of leather goods, to be worn in a wallet or bag, according to her desires.

Sabrina Cesari talks about her fashion projects, and her crazy success on Instagram: “Everything happened step by step”

You sign for the fall, a limited edition collection, in collaboration with the leather goods brand Le Tanneur. Can you tell us about this project?

This is a project we have been working on for a year now. The idea was to rework on the Emilie model, which I have in several copies at home and which I love. I was a big fan of this model and Le Tanneur noticed it since they offered me to reissue this model, and today is the famous release of this handbag. A sleek and timeless bag, but with a touch of originality, which follows all fashion trends. That can be worn in summer and winter, since nude is a warm color that goes everywhere.

You have your ready-to-wear brand Nomadiya. How did this adventure begin, and what were your motivations for launching your own fashion label?

Sabrina Cesari, fashionista and star of social media confides:

I launched my brand three years ago. Basically, I am a fashion designer by trade, and necessarily by going to this field of study, my dream was to be able to launch my brand, as I did three years ago. We are therefore working on feminine ready-to-wear, casual chic, pieces that can easily be worn during the day and accessorized to make them look more sophisticated in the evening.

You've reached 412,000 followers on Instagram. How did your job as a content creator start, and how did everything accelerate?

It started about seven years ago, and I originally had a sewing workshop in Beirut, since I lived in the city for ten years. Originally, I opened my Instagram account to advertise my courses, and my community started to grow more in France than in Lebanon. I think it's this side of the French who works in fashion and lives in Beirut that intrigued me a bit. As my community started to grow in France, I had to start talking about something other than my classes, since the girls couldn't attend because they lived too far away. As a result, I started presenting my looks of the day, my creations, which allowed me to launch my ready-to-wear brand. Since by presenting them on Instagram, the girls who followed me and who wanted to buy them, could. So, I started selling through my account. This is how my community grew, and this is how I wanted to launch my brand. Everything happened step by step.

You are very active on Instagram, what messages do you try to convey first to the people who follow you?

Good humor above all, and positive messages. I see Instagram as an escape, a way to clear your head at the end of the day and think and see funny things. The goal is to entertain people. Whether in fashion, in humor, through my little daily stories. It really is mindless.

What does your typical day look like?

I don't really have a typical day, since some of my days are more dedicated to my brand, others more to Instagram, or others, and especially at the moment, more to the baby. This is precisely what I like about this job: there is no typical day. I don't have time to get bored or find it monotonous. I'm moving and learning all the time, and that's what's great.

How would you describe your style?

Casual chic. I can wear a tracksuit and sneakers, then put on a nice handbag to dress it all up, and put on a suit or denim jacket. I just like to mix this sportswear side, and accessorize it with very feminine pieces.

What clothes and accessories should a woman always have in her fashion wardrobe?

A white shirt, jeans, and a black suit jacket. These are really the three basics that in my opinion are ideal to wear in the morning when you don't know what to wear. Whether worn together or separately, it will always be a safe bet. As for accessories, I would say a beautiful handbag. Just like the nude, for example, from my collection with Le Tanneur.

What are the current fashion trends that you love?

Moccasins. Which I had a little trouble with at the beginning, and which I really like now, since you see them everywhere. Sometimes we manage to wear us out, that's also the fashion.

Where do you draw your daily inspiration?

Everywhere, on Instagram, in the movies or the series I watch, especially for my brand. In magazines, and on the street. Watching the way people dress, especially since in Paris there are so many different styles, which is very inspiring. Also through travel.

A most unforgettable fashion memory?

The launch of my brand. It was the biggest step in my professional life. Afterwards, there are other unforgettable launches like my bag in collaboration with the Le Tanneur brand, since it is also a dream. I have had a passion for bags and shoes since childhood, so inevitably, having your name added to that of a leather goods house can only be a dream come true.
